COVID-19 vaccination will have a major impact on LMIC national healthcare budgets. Substantial investments by governments and donors are needed for vaccine procurement and vaccine delivery infrastructure.
This report presents the cost-effectiveness analysis (CEA) of a Saving Lives at Birth (SLAB) funded innovation – Pratt Pouch – in Uganda. Pratt Pouch is a novel way to deliver Nevirapine (NVP), an antiretroviral (ARV) prophylaxis, in a small sachet to HIV-exposed infants (HEI).
This report presents the cost-effectiveness analysis (CEA) of a Saving Lives at Birth (SLAB) funded innovation – BEMPU TempWatch – in India. BEMPU TempWatch is a device that continuously monitors a newborn’s temperature, and alerts parents and healthcare providers whenever the baby’s temperature drops below the normal levels – a condition known as hypothermia.
This report presents the cost-effectiveness analysis (CEA) of a Saving Lives at Birth (SLAB) funded innovation –All Babies Count(ABC)–in Rwanda. ABC is an 18-month change acceleration program focused on training healthcare providers on the Rwandan National Neonatal Care Protocol to reduce preventable neonatal deaths.
The Duke University team worked with select innovations from the Saving Lives at Birth (SL@B) program – a Grand Challenge for development, to create a new Excel-based costing tool to assist healthcare innovators as they better understand and track their costs, and navigate their scale-up pathways.
